Dev log #2


Hey all! First, I’d like to start this post off with a big thank you, to our wonderful community! On behalf of FakeArcade we are greatly overwhelmed with joy with the support we have received over the past few months from Avoid Death and all our other games! You guys rock!

 

Now onto business!

We aim to begin production of Avoid Death again over the next 4 months and bring it to a point where we feel comfortable to release the full version on steam! We aim to have a completed road map available for you all by next week!

But don’t worry! We plan to continue updating our itch.io game for free during the alpha creation process!

 

What did we change from pre-alpha to alpha? To begin with we fixed a handful of noted bugs and issues, along with introducing a new game mechanic & optimization.

 

Bugs

  • Player is now invincible after dying, (for approximately 0.75 seconds).


  • Player hearts will no longer spawn directly onto the players location, instead they will spawn away from the players location.

 

Optimization

  • Level load optimization, we’ve made various changes to the way we load our levels, and we hope this will greatly increase loading times between each level/scene this should reduce/remove any loading lag.
  • Block Mechanic, when the right click button is pressed the a block sequence plays for 0.5 seconds allowing the player to block all damage from the frontal direction, this ability also has a cool down of 10 seconds.
